Geography
Why do we teach this?
Geography is essentially about understanding the world we live in. It helps to provoke and provide answers to questions about the physical and human aspects of the world. At Sandown Primary School children are encouraged to develop a greater understanding and knowledge of the world, as well as their place in it.

National Fieldwork fortnight
National Fieldwork fortnight
The whole school took part in 'The 7 Wonders of Deal' fieldwork fortnight. The classes spent time exploring Deal high street, the seafront, local parks and landmarks. Some classes counted steps between key landmarks to help them create scale maps while others drew birds eye maps creating their own keys. Many routes were plotted using directional language, road names and landmarks as guides. What a great time everyone had.
